5 Crowd-Pleasing Appetizers For This Fourth Of July

Are you looking to spice things up this summer? Are you tired of the same-old-same-old appetizers for this year’s Fourth of July cookout? Here are five unique ideas to try this year to change things up a bit!

Crock Pot Pulled Pork Sliders

This may sound like a complicated appetizer, but I assure you it’s not! Begin with a pork shoulder and place it into a crock pot with about an inch of water on the bottom. Season the pork with salt, pepper, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes.

Cook on high until the meat can easily shred. Shred the meat in the crock pot and add your favorite BBQ sauce. You can serve it on sliders with a bit of creamy coleslaw or keep it in the crockpot with the fixings and sliders on the side for a serve-yourself appetizer!

Fruit And Cheese Kabobs

Get ready to shake up your appetizer game with these Fruit and Cheese Kabobs! They’re not just delicious—but a fun twist on the traditional charcuterie board, served in a unique and exciting kabob form.

Layer bite-sized cheeses such as pepper jack, cheddar, or monterey jack with apple slices, blueberries, and strawberries. Serve with various crackers for a simple yet delicious appetizer for a warm cookout.

Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip

In a crock pot, mix eight ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 cup cheddar cheese, ½ cup mozzarella cheese, ½ cup ranch dressing, ½ cup Franks red hot, and 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken. Once mixed, top with some more cheddar and mozzarella cheese and turn on low until hot and bubbly.

Garnish with green onion or chives and serve with crostinis, crackers, and tortilla chips. You could also do this in an oven-safe dish and bake it at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until bubbly.

Grilled Bacon Wrapped Asparagus

These bacon-wrapped asparagus are beyond delicious. Smoky and sweet, they are the first appetizers to disappear at the cookout. Clean and snip the ends of fresh asparagus. Then, using a pound of bacon, cut each strip in half.

Wrap the half strip of bacon around one asparagus stalk. Continue this process until you are finished. Mix ½ cup of BBQ sauce, two tablespoons of brown sugar, and one tablespoon of orange juice in a small dish. Once the bacon starts to crisp on the grill, brush the BBQ mixture onto the stalks and then serve.

Grilled Brie With Berries

Brie doesn’t just have to be for the holiday season. Turn the grill on low and place the brie on it to char. Once charred, place it onto a grill-safe baking sheet. Let it grill for about 15 minutes, and then serve the brie with fresh blueberries and strawberries. Use trisket crackers and wheat thins as dipping options.
